Contraindications and Precautions
The presence of the following medical problems may affect the use of Sildenafil Citrate: allergic reaction to any of its components, chest pain, heart attack, other heart diseases, diabetes, stroke, high or low blood pressure, high cholesterol, certain eye problems, bleeding disorder, other blood problems, stomach ulcer, kidney or liver problems.
Common Sildenafil Citrate side effects include the following: upset stomach, headache, facial flushing, warmth or redness in face, sensitivity to light, blurred vision, chest pains, nausea, dizziness, shortness of breath, upset stomach, and diarrhea.
If Sildenafil Citrate is combined with one of the following medicines, the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered: nitrate medications, nitroprusside, cimetidine, erythromycin, azole antifungals, mibefradil, high blood pressure medicines, alpha blockers, amlodipine, itraconazole, ketoconazole, rifampin, ritonavir, saquinavir.
Note that Sildenafil Citrate is does not increase sexual desire or fertility and does not protect a woman or her partner from sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV.
