Dosage and Forms
Tamoxifine comes in tablets for oral administration.
Tamoxifine is usually prescribed as a single daily dose to be taken at the same time every day with or without food. The daily dosage depends on your medical condition, age, body weight, and response to. Tamoxifine is commonly prescribed for five years.
Tamoxifine taken in excess can have serious consequences. If you suspect an overdose of Tamoxifine, seek medical attention immediately. Symptoms of Tamoxifine overdose may include: dizziness, overactive reflexes, tremor, and unsteady gait.
Contraindications and Precautions
Tamoxifine is contraindicated to persons who are allergic to any of its ingredients. Before taking Tamoxifine, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it. You should not take Tamoxifine if you are taking the blood-thinning drug Coumadin or have had problems with clots in your veins or your lungs, you should not take Tamoxifine to reduce the risk of breast cancer.
