Dosage and Forms
Amlodipine is available in form of tablets.
Take each dose of Amlodipine as scheduled by your doctor, with a full glass of water or with food to minimize dizziness.
Contraindications and Precautions
The presence of the following medical problems may affect the use of Amlodipine: liver disease, disease of the heart or blood vessels, sick sinus syndrome, aortic stenosis, heart failure, low blood pressure, or coronary artery disease. Besides, Amlodipine is contraindicated to pregnant or breast-feeding women.
Common Amlodipine side effects include the following: nausea; vomiting; diarrhea, fatigue or tiredness, headache, insomnia, vivid or abnormal dreams, flushing, bdominal pain.
If Amlodipine is combined with one of the following medicines, the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered: Beta-blockers, Vasopressin receptor antagonists, Sildenafil.
